Welcome to QuadCo Welcome to QuadCo online. While it's our sincere hope that the website is intuitive enough that you won't need to read very much to become productive, we'd also be neglect if we didn't provide a basic overview of how it works for those that can use a little introduction. If this is you, read on ....
The website itself is split into two main classes of pages, called Public and Private. The Public portions named Information and Logon are the portions that anyone with a browser can access. The Private portions require that you identify yourself to www.qcsra.org by providing your distinct identity (your name) and a super secret password on the Logon page.
- Table of Contents
- The left side of the Browser window always contains what is called the Table of Contents and permits you to click into a specific area (we call them Segments) to perform related tasks. The Segments are generally Role based, which basically means that Referee specific tasks (look for an Assignment, file a Match Report, file a Misconduct, etc.) are located in the Referee segment.
- Segments
Once you've successfully logged on, you'll have access to the Services area and one or more additional Segments (most significant for most Referees, the Referee segment). Assignors will have access to the Assignor segment (getting the idea yet????)
- Messages
- When you perform a function or action, if the site reacts positively or negatively, you should see a message appear just under the Shortcut area and above the text of the panel. Error conditions are basically Red where Normal conditions are green
DO pay attention to these messages. Some of them are cryptic and may be a tiny bit confusing, but...do read them (they're key to what the site is doing as a result of whatever it is that you just did). If it says Your password does not match it means...well...the password you entered doesn't compare favorably with what is on file.
- Shortcuts
- All that clicking from Segment to Segment can take a while (although most things are typically less than 2 clicks away, you'll also notice a series of keywords at the top of the screen right after what we call the Shortcut
symbol. These are short, clickable words that take you right where you're likely to want to go. Referees that want to get a list of upcoming Matches? Click to Referee: Inquiry or just click on the Inquiry shortcut at the top of each page.
- Site Index
- Yep, the Site has a lot of functions in it and, in fact, is likely to continue to grow as we refine how we want it to work. You can see a complete outline of what is available to you at the given moment by finding your way to the SiteIndex (formally known as Information: Siteindex but ....).
- Symbols
- Small Symbols are used in quite a few places on the site to represent a characteristic (such as the Open
Position Status) or could be a clickable element permitting you to perform a function (like the SelfAssign request). The best way to get a quick hint what it is for is to move your mouse over the top of the Symbol and pause. In almost all cases, you'll see a short popup telling you what the symbol means.
There are lots of other things that probably should be mentioned here, but...the best way to find out what does what is to start clicking through the various pages. It won't take too long and then you'll have a feel for how to use the Site to accomplish your goals. Oh yeah, if you have problems, think about posting something to the Forums or email webmaster@QuadCoSRA.org But, DO start clicking through the pages...there's plenty of stuff to discover. Again, Welcome to QuadCo!!! |
