Professional Development and Travel Support Policy

 

Purpose

This Travel Support Policy outlines the eligibility criteria and process for referees seeking financial assistance for attending select high-level soccer events. It is designed to support professional development and representation of the Quad County Referee Organization at prestigious events.


Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for travel support:

  1. Game Requirement: The referee must have officiated at least 50 games in the past calendar year or the preceding 365 days for the association.
  2. Frequency of Use: Each eligible referee may utilize travel support once per calendar year.

Eligible Events

Travel support is available for participation in the following events:

  • MLS Next
  • USYS Regionals
  • USYS Nationals
  • USYS National League
  • ECNL Nationals
  • Other Events: With Board approval, additional events may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Stipend Amount

  • The Quad County Referee Board will provide a stipend of $150 for eligible referees.
  • With Board approval, the stipend amount may be increased on a case-by-case basis.

Application Process

  1. Submission: Referees must submit a Travel Support Request to the President of the Board at least 30 days prior to the event.
  2. Documentation: Applications must include:
    • Proof of event invitation or acceptance.
    • Record of games officiated within the eligibility timeframe.

Limitations

  • Funds are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis for eligible applications.
  • Support is non-transferable and applicable only to the approved referee and event.
